Vibrantly coloured kikoys and kangas have adorned generations of East Africans: for many centuries these prized textiles were a unit of currency, used by the peoples of the coast and interior. Now Kasuku is offering these versatile beachwear garments to people everywhere. Made in Africa for Africa they are already much sought after worldwide. Kasuku U.K. Ltd was established in 1994. Their workshop is in Kenya and has been manufacturing kikoys since 1998. Kasuku is a family run business which prides itself in offering friendly service and personal attention. Kasuku offers jobs and support to the local Kenyans and also outsource some of our work. Several accessories are handcrafted and the work is outsourced to 'collectives' of Masaai and Mkamba women and other groups who benefit from the extra income. Kasuku is totally compliant with the labour laws and support the community at large. The name "Kasuku" means parrot in Kiswahili. The vibrant colours tell the story of why they call themselves Kasuku. Kasuku constantly monitors the fashions and regularly add or change the products and colours to keep with the trend.
